Founded in 2004, Hot Chocolate Design emerges into the Venezuelan market as a local fresh and innovative accessories brand, based on the consumers need of fleeing away from the uniformity and creative rigidity provided by mass-produced brands. We define HCD as a design brand, which occasionally blends with art as the concept, design and fabrication of each item we produce, is intended to reflect the individuality of each item. Betting on our customers need for originality, we offer limited collections and our retired products have become collectors items for many of our fans.
There so great wear with jeansI love the style of the shoes but for the quality does not match the price.Super cute. Very comfortable but I wouldn't expect anything less from the Hot Chocolate brand.I've been eyeing these shoes for over a year, and when they had a rare drop in price, I went for it. I own a pair of the flats which I really like and I love the creativity of the company. A struggle I had is they only have whole sizes and the flats that I have are about 1/2 size too large. I'm going to review design and fit as those are the two ares that caused me to wait a while to purchase.Design:I liked these a lot because they came with the extra element of the bows that can be removed. They snap under the shoe and velcro behind it. If you had a sold pair of pumps or boot that matched the coloration, you could probably use them as the velcro/snap design is very basic. On this added part, it's the same fabric as the shoe with brass (looking) hooks and a medium-weight pink ribbon. (It's perfectly tied and I'll be leaving it that way!) The top of the add-on piece is in a v, so if you aren't wearing socks, it shouldn't bother your foot. I don't like things rubbing on my foot and didn't notice any.The shoe surprised me with the quality of the footbed cushion. I know the materials are sourced in China and was worried the quality might reflect that - it doesn't. The bottom is rubber (green) and a little more the 1/2 a centimeter. The outside is soft, the design in printed on the fabric and is very vibrant. I don't see any glue between the fabric and sole, they feel and look well made. The design is beautiful, they are quite beautiful. As they are on the feet and the teal/pink/grey soft of blends, I imagine someone has to intentionally look at them to notice how unusual they are (esp w/o the ribbon addition). I have yet to walk with them outside, so can't comment on this. I find it difficult to wear out shoes, so I really just add unusual pieces now, and I must say these (and the Hot Chocolate brand) qualify for me.As a side note, I have a friend from Venezuela (where Hot Chocolate is from) and she has purchased several pairs there - she told me the owner is extremely picky about the design/materials/source so that made me feel a lot better about this purchase.) Also, if you have the flats, these are not the same in fit or design, but the outer fabric is the same.On fit. I have wide feet at the ball of my foot and if I found a wide mary-jane type shoe, I can wear an 8.5 easily, sometimes an 8. Because women's shoes are made more narrow, I wear a 9 to compensate for the width and still look for rounded toes. This has a rounded toe, which is great but the sizing - at least for my foot type - needed to go up. I ordered a 10 and the fit like a 9 that's just a little snug. I know this type of fabric and it starts out stiff and then relaxes. If they had half sizes, I don't think it's for up, I really do like the fit just how it is. My flats are a 9 and they are a bit floppy on my feet - so with those an 8 might be better but an 8.5 would probably be perfect.I really like the shoe, I've been eyeing them for such a long time and am SUPER happy with my purchase. I really struggled with fit, but since I had flats and a little insight on the company, I felt fine about the design. I hope this helps if you are trying to get fit information. Happy to answer any specific questions as well if you think I can help. When I first saw these shoes I immediately fell in love. And believe it or not they are as comfortable as they are beautiful and unique. I've had them since April, worn them many times and EVERY time I wear them I get compliments. The compliments come from all kinds of different people. They are appreciated by all. They're not just shoes they are wearable pieces of art with or without the sleeve. I'm an introvert, so having random people talk to me is a bit uncomfortable, so if you're the type that doesn't like ANY attention I would pass on these because they will get you noticed. These shoes are easy to walk in and I have gotten me being able to wear stilettos I haven't been able to walk in in ages. 10/10 will purchase again. Just not now.I bought the Marie-Antoinettes and the Doris Mary Janes. If you’re buying these shoes for the unique aspect, you’ll get what you’re expecting. From a [distance] these are super adorable and I imagine when I go out I’m going to get compliments like crazy as long as no one gets too close ?I feel we are paying for the aesthetic and not the quality. I can’t give these 5 stars though as the craftsmanship wasn’t quite what I was expecting.I imagine I’ll wear these a couple of times and something is going to break. My bet is on the heel itself where it joins to the base of the shoe or on the ankle straps.Parts of it appear to be vinyl (a lot of synthetics went into these shoes), there’s plastic heels coated in polyester stretchy printed fabrics for the prints.the entire outside of the shoe is the polyester printed material coating a harder material. It’s like a wrap of printed polyester fabric and it’s easy to see up close. The bottoms of the shoe are also a type of plastic. I’ve a feeling these are going to look and get dirty fast. For the Marie Antoinette’s even the lacesare cheaply made, though I can replace these with more quality ribbons in the future. They did use good quality buttons on the spatterdashes though :)Comfort: these fit fairly true to size, though the angle of the heel isn’t comfortable [for me].Aesthetic: they’re adorable and unique which is why they’re getting 4 stars because gosh, they’re cute!Value: From materials and design I think these prob shouldn’t be priced over $55The next shoes I buy from this company absolutely will be on sale. I don’t mind paying the price if I’m also getting quality, which isn’t the case here.I ordered a US 6, but it is more like a US 6.5, but I kept them and put a little tissue paper in the toe area. They only come in full sizes, so I couldn't get a US 5.5My usual size is 7 1/2 and these don’t come in half sizes so I got a size 8. You can see in the pic it’s a little loose however not too bad (I wore thick footies) the arch support is just ok so a few hours max and they gotta come off!! I received so many compliments. And as you see in the pic they come with extra heel pads. Yay! I am so happy with my purchase even though the heel is a bit high for me. (And with medium arch support it’s ouch!) however I literally love these shoes and will wear them and endure because These shoes are adorable and so worth it …. by far my new favorite! These shoes are stunning but unfortunately are now just an expensive ornament. I walked down one street & by the end of it I was in agony. There is something very wrong with the design of the toe that makes them excruciating to wear. I'm not sure if there isn't enough height or the the space between the part under the balls of your feet & the end of the shoe, but the hardness of the shoe itself leaves your toes feeling like they are being stood on. I even put silicone pads in above my toes to try & soften it a bit but to absolutely no avail. I had to go barefoot for the rest of the night & ended up walking back to the hotel with no shoes on at all. I have a lot of shoes & have never experienced anything like this. Unfortunately the cut seems too high on the ankle too, which I worked out before I left the house in them so had plasters in place. Had I not done so it would have worn a hole in my skin.I will see if I can return them as they are unwearable, which is beyond gutting as they are so beautiful & otherwise very well made & comfortable (if stood still & never walking) with great arch support. I wear a 7, so maybe the larger sizes aren't proportioned correctly.I've wanted some Hot Chocolate shoes for ages so am really disappointed.I love these shoes. There are my favourite pair of shoes ever. I managed to get them for the slightly cheaper price in the Amazon Lightning Deals, but disappointingly, they are too big.The smallest size that Hot Chocolate do are a size 3. I'm a size 2, maybe 2.5, depending on the shoe. These are a finger's width too large at the heel, and I'm looking at options to make these shoes work, but I'm not finding anything, due to the size of the gap. But I do have shoes/boots that are a size 3-4, depending on the make.If my feet were half a size larger, or the shoes were half a size smaller, these would be the comfiest heels that I've worn. The heel is nice and sturdy, so you don't feel like you're walking on stilettos. The strap fits comfortably, although, the spider web section does tend to bulge out a little, when I stand up. There are two different designs on the sole, which is a really stand out feature. I love the overall look and style of the shoes and can incorporate them into quite a lot of looks.I'm just so disappointed that these don't fit and totally on the fence about whether to send these back and get a refund, because they're a very expensive mistake otherwise. But if I do keep them, they'll just be sitting on my shoe rack, gathering dust. If I send them back, I'll be forever thinking about ways I could have made them fit.Edit: I've kept them. And bought Haven't had the chance to wear them out yet, but it's a beautiful shoe! I love that I can change the style with the clip on covers to suit different styles or seasons. As far as high heels go they're really comfy and are well padded inside. The chunky heel makes them nice and sturdy for the height.Only downsides is the covers are a bit creased from being in the box near the toe and the fit around the toe of the shoe isn't great but I do have quite long narrow feet so maybe it's just me. Doesn't affect the wear, the slight gap just bugs me. And finally the cover is a bit iffy to put back on. It fastens with velcro around the ankle and a couple of snap fasteners under the sole, the snap fasteners don't always click in very well and come undone a little easily. But nothing drastic.Overall a really comfy pair of shoes with a beautiful and quirky design for a decent price. My advice though is go for a couple of sizes bigger than normal. I'm usually a UK 7 and bought a UK 8 and it's a little bit snug around the toes.I love these shoes! I keep using the excuse of 'breaking them in' as a reason to be over glamorous in my footwear choice.I was surprised how comfy they were from first try and was a bit wary of the soles being plastic/rubber and likely to be not durable. However once on they feel like a similar of flats I have (by Crocs) which have lasted a good while so I am hopeful.I have wide feet and am usually a 6.5 uk size soWent for a 7 and they fit fine. The longest I've worn them is around 4 hours where my feet did start to 'slip down' the incline a bit to become a little uncomfortable, but a quick break and readjust and it was ok.Design wise they are perfection! I have a bunch of very jealous friends and have had great compliment from strangers.Just received my shoes and they are gorgeous. Very well made, comfortable, look good and delivered quickly. I got them for half price as well which is a bonus. Think I'll get the monkey business ones next as I can see myself starting a collection.UPDATE: Did get the Monkey business shoes for christmas from my Hubby. Hope he knows what he's started. ??
